Is It War?

Is It War?

report ten hours ago from Assaf Kinzer which I just read on Facebook:

‎| ***** BREAKING NEWS *****

Israeli troops have now invaded northern Gaza, and are currently going from house to house. The sky is buzzing with armed Drones who have been in the air for hours, accompanied by Apache helicopters. The situation in Gaza is very tense, and the people are fearing the worst tonight.

Assaf is watching reports from Gaza TV.  This Haaretz report only mentions Israeli air attacks but doesn’t refer to the far more disturbing development involving the commitment of ground troops and essentially an invasion.

This latest violence proves, to me, something I have said many times here, that there is no peace without Gaza, no peace without Hamas.  You can pretend as long as you want that Abbas and the PA are Israel’s partners (that is, on the good days when Israel deigns to call them that).  But there can be no real Palestinian partner who turns his back on Hamas and Gaza.  And this rule holds true for the great powers like the EU and U.S.  Ignore Hamas at your peril.  If you wish unending bloodshed, continue with this benighted policy.  If you want peace, talk to Hamas.

The politicians always think that they know what’s best for the Jewish people, but only G-d knows that and He already told us what to do–-fight for the land and get rid of those who refuse to live in peace. The “House of Darkness” (UN) is already stirring, demanding a ceasefire, which is another word for surrender to terror and hope they won’t hit us again. Of course, the current unnamed leader of Hamas lost no time in getting in front of the TV cameras and said, “Israel must pull out of Gaza and stop the blockade. Then we will talk.” What a big surprise! That’s what happened in 2009 and their “talk” was more rockets being lobbed at Jewish homes. [Sigh] Let’s hope Bi Bi doesn’t wimp out like all the others. No Ceasefire until there is total victory!!! More at http://moshesharon.wordpress.com

    • “God” says “Thou shalt not steal”: this includes “the land”, which was stolen from the Palestinian inhabitants in 1948 through terrorism and ethnic cleansing. Expecting peace to come from a regime founded on the supreme “sin” of the 20th century -ethnic cleansing and genocide- is like expecting a country “founded on slavery and genocide” (how ML King described the USA) to practice peace in the world.

Furthermore, “man creates god in his own image”: so I tend to project peoples’ statements about god back onto those people. If your god is a jealous and vengeful god, then for me, that says something about those who create such a god. And likewise if your god has other qualities. My own “god” tells me to have compassion for all living beings, a directive that I fall far short of unfortunately.
